As a nonprofit theater, The Paramount relies on community philanthropic support in addition to revenue from performances. With the loss of over $700,000 in revenue due to the cancellation or postponement of 100 events in the wake of the COVID-19 public health crisis, this pandemic has and will continue to take its toll on Charlottesville’s beloved historic Theater. Since 1931, The Paramount has served as an iconic landmark central to our historic downtown and through its mission to educate, enchant, enrich, and enlighten through the arts, the Theater serves as an important economic driver for our region.

Please consider making a tax-deductible gift that will:

● Offset costs and lost revenues for events canceled or postponed due to COVID-19 and the closure of our building to the public beginning March 10, 2020

● Implement new processes, cleaning procedures, and building modifications to provide a safe and healthy environment for patrons, volunteers, and staff.

● Maintain our treasured, historic facility and keep it secure until we are able to safely reopen to the public.

● Retain essential, skilled personnel able to keep the Marquee and Blade burning bright in the minds of the community and prepare for when The Paramount Stage gathers us together again in shared, live, and screened experiences.

Thank you for your essential support during these unprecedented times. Your donation will help us weather this unfathomable storm and be ready to be here for the community when we’re able to gather again.
